Today I took the kids to their pediatrician for a follow-up ear check. Nicholas' ears are just fine, but he has allergies, so we've started him on a daily nasal spray. I thought he'd completely freak out about the spray, but he's really cooperative and doesn't mind it at all. Andi also has allergies but is too young for the spray, so she gets a daily dose of Claritin. She also has a cold, another ear infection, and a horrible diaper rash! It's been a rough day for her. This evening she was running around the living room, tripped, and fell right on our rocking chair, bruising her nose and cheek. I think she may have a good shiner in the morning. Her mood has been pretty good all day, considering the discomfort she's endured.
We met our friend Pegan and her two kids for lunch at a teriyaki place after the doctor's appointment. We had a good time but decided we need to get together without the kids some day so that we can have an uninterrupted conversation! We are constantly starting a subject, being interrupted, then forgetting what we were saying. It's pretty comical.
Today Andi said, "Dada fa way!" (Dada is far away!) She misses her Daddy, just like the rest of us.
