Nicholas' New Big Boy Bike

The big news is that my friend's son (Big Nick) gave my son (Little Nick) his old bike yesterday. There were no training wheels on it, but he was sooo excited to ride it. He even figured out how to ride it with the kickstand down...so he'd not fall over but still move a little. Determination! At first he was just certain that he could hop right on and take off without the training wheels, but he soon learned it was a little more complicated than that.

Today I got some training wheels , but I wasn't able to get them on right. We needed Daddy! Our dear neighbor Mr. Bruce helped us out and they work quite well. Nicholas looks so big on that bike! He has no trouble pedaling. Andi was pedaling her little bike tonight, too. She'd yell, "Look at me! Look at me!"

Swimming has gone well. He passed all of his milestones...climbing out by himself, blowing bubbles, jumping in, kicking and paddling on his own, and pushing off the wall to me. He loves that last part, and jumping in, too. Today he tried jumping in the pool, but not into my arms, and discovered that it wasn't as much fun! Cough cough!
