Spooktacular

Our nearby rec center held its first-ever "Spooktacular" on Halloween eve this year. The rec center is huge, but they still used almost every space to create a fun party for the kids. They turned the locker rooms into 2 separate haunted houses (one scary and the other not as scary but still too scary for Nicholas), the racquetball courts housed games like bingo and a cake walk, and the basketball court held numerous games like ring toss and the fishing game. They even had a canoe ride in the pool and puck-shooting on the ice rink (Nick made a goal!). The kids got a bag full of candy and little prizes, and were simply delighted by the whole scene. It was fun to see all the costumes and to watch the kids having so much fun, but my friend Gabrielle and I were happy to head home after a few hours!
