The big day started at 6:30 a.m., when a little mouse crept into my room and asked me if it was morning yet. I told her no. That sounds mean, but I wanted to be sure that Santa and his reindeer had eaten their snacks and to get the video camera set up. So, a few minutes later, the kids came down with much excitement and anticipation. Andi was delighted that Santa liked her snacks, and even more delighted by her new princess castle. Stockings were opened, and although there was no coal in either one, Nicholas got a can of green beans and Andi's included a can of carrots. I guess Santa wants them to eat their veggies. Ha.
Later, Chris' family joined us for a potluck brunch, which was delicious. Next came more present opening, playing, and just hanging around. That afternoon, we headed up to Ogden for Aunt Joan's annual Moore family Christmas get-together, which culminated in a gift exchange. When we returned home, we couldn't rest yet, as our kitchen had been redecorated by our dogs (see below). So much fun for one day--even with the dogs' special surprise.
